Less is more!

In the words of Henry Beecher, "Greatness lies not in being strong, but in the right use of strength". We live in a world that promotes the survival of the fittest or the every man(or woman) for themself culture. It is true to suggest that enemies are made over the parade of the wrong use of strength. The Kingdom of God operates in such a manner that the weak will be made strong and the strong will be made weak . To quote a supermarket slogan - "less is more"! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says “..9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong". The strength of Lord is not a parade of pride or dominance. It is pure and righteous and produces real victory.

Yes ..... like most Christians I know that there is nothing good contained within my spiritual "flesh".

There is a real battle, against myself and my old nature.

The theory part is the easy part. Real life "living" is the hard part.

Gods ways are so often challenging to my deepest ideas about myself.

I feel that I can trust God but yet I am afraid to follow whole heartedly without continually refering back to the world for approval.

Without Gods new mercies I would be utterly lost.

God help me do your will. Show me how.

Thanks for your honest blog Richard. Ezekiel 34 speaks about the Good Shepherd leading us to a place of safety. This suggests that there will be times when we will feel in danger and fear will stare us in the face. However, with His Shepherd's guidance we will be protected from the evil one and led in His paths. Trust and obey.
