Less is more!

In the words of Henry Beecher, "Greatness lies not in being strong, but in the right use of strength". We live in a world that promotes the survival of the fittest or the every man(or woman) for themself culture. It is true to suggest that enemies are made over the parade of the wrong use of strength. The Kingdom of God operates in such a manner that the weak will be made strong and the strong will be made weak . To quote a supermarket slogan - "less is more"! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says “..9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong". The strength of Lord is not a parade of pride or dominance. It is pure and righteous and produces real victory.

God knows our show size!

Corrie TenBoom said "If God sends us on strong paths, He will provide us with strong shoes". This inspirational quote got me thinking that the Lord has equipped us with the shoes of the Gospel of peace. We can walk in the ordered steps of peace if we are wearing the correct footwear! Life does serve us some strong paths but there is One who has already walked where we walk. Today take comfort from the fact that God knows your show size and He wants you to wear them well.

God is for us!

How far is the sheep from the Shepherd? How far is the branch from the Vine? God is near you. Psalm 56:9 says "When I send up my cry to you, my haters will be turned back; I am certain of this, for God is with me". Some translations say that "God is for me". One things for certain - God is with us, we are not alone. God knows our whole story from first to final breath. Nothing stuns God. Nothing we will do will make Him think that we were not worth saving. Wow, such grace!

In sickness and in health...

It's been a few weeks since a blog update. Life has been frantic with surgery, hospital visits, scans and check ups. My wife and I have discovered that life just keeps going at it's frantic pace but you sometimes have to cross over to the slower lane to heal up. God is our strength and our hope. We thank God for a praying church family and friends outside too who are praying us through. God is faithful in sickness and in health. I recently pondered over Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal (Natural, Earthly) bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." This is talking about our natural body. The one we have now, not the one we're going to receive one day in heaven! We praise Him for the NOW promise of health!
