Better is One Day

Psalm 84:10 says - "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness".
Even a glimpse at the love of God is better than ages spent in the earthly pleasures. The humblest position in the Lord's house is better than the highest position among the godless. Only to wait at His doorstep and peep within, so as to see Jesus, is worth absolutely everything. Let's have the heart of the doorkeeper.

This reminds me a bit of the account of Moses in Hebrews chapter 11, verses 24-26:

"By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward."
